Boys Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · City Alliance Releases All-Tournament Teams


The City Alliance released the All-Tournament Teams for the 2018 Boys and Girls Soccer City Tournaments.  The honor team is based on student athletes’ performance during City Tournament games, nominated by City Alliance coaches.  2018 City Alliance Boys & Girls Soccer All-Tournament Teams.

Covenant placed two players each on the Boys and Girls honor teams for this season’s tournaments.  On the Girls side, Juniors Avery Price and Alex David were both selected.  David scored two goals in CCHS’ three City Tournament games, while Price added a goal in the Lady Warriors’ City game versus George Washington CHS.  CCHS defeated GWCHS in the first round and then #4 seed Cardinal Ritter HS 2-0 in the quarterfinals, before being eliminated in the semifinals by the eventual City champion Cathedral HS, 5-0.  Cathedral withstood Bishop Chatard HS in a shootout in the Girls final.

On the Boys side, Seniors Braden Havics and Jacob Susud were both selected for their performances in the City Tournament.  Susud, the Warriors’ goalkeeper, made three saves to record a shutout against Scecina Memorial HS in the Warriors’ quarterfinal match, and made a game-winning save on the final penalty kick in the shootout.  Havics scored a goal in the shootout, and had a solid two games in the tournament.  Cathedral HS defeated Covenant 2-0 in the semifinal round.  The Irish went on to defeat Cardinal Ritter HS 2-1 in the final.
