The Covenant Cross Country team had three individuals compete in the IHSAA Regional at Ben Davis HS yesterday.  All three athletes, Senior Ashlyn Hastings, Junior Harland Lory, and Freshman Clayton Reichanadter, advanced out of the sectional round on the same BDHS course last week.

Hastings finished 13th overall in the Girls race, running a 19:42.80.  She will now advance to the semi-state round.  Regional #2 will be run at Blue River Park in Shelbyville on Saturday, October 20 at 10:30 am.  This marks the first time since Hananiah Davis (CCHS Class of 2016) in 2015, that a CCHS runner has advanced to semi-state.  Lory ran a 21:08.01, good enough for 47th place overall.  Both Hastings’ and Lory’s ended last season with injuries and were unable to compete in the 2017 State Tournament.

Zionsville CHS won the Girls Regional team competition.  Cardinal Ritter HS finished second, followed by Avons HS, Brownsburg HS, and Southport HS. All five teams advance to the semi-state.

Freshman Clayton Reichanadter concluded a strong first season in the Warrior Cross Country program, finishing the course in 18:04.17, placing him 66th overall in the Boys race.  Zionsville also won the Boys regional, with Avon HS taking second place, Brownsburg HS taking third place, Ben Davis HS in fourth, and Cardinal Ritter HS taking fifth place.
